This literally means “protection against ingress.” While all of our lamps are suitable for outdoor use, the IP rating specifically indicates the extent to which the lamp can withstand water splashes, moisture or rain.

The lamps with IP 20 specification can be used outdoors but do not provide protection against water splashes, moisture or rain. We recommend bringing the lamps back inside after use. The lamps with IP 44 specification are suitable for sheltered outdoor areas such as verandas or under a roof. They are also suitable for damp indoor areas such as bathrooms. The lamps with IP 54 specification can be used in environments where some dust is present and where occasional splashing water or light rain may occur. The lamps with IP 65 specification are resistant to water jets and are suitable for unsheltered outdoor areas such as in the garden or on open terraces.
